Essential Duties
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain adequate and cost effective inventory levels of all products used in the production of concrete.
- Operates and controls batching equipment to produce specified concrete mix according to customer requests and design specifications. Loads ready mix trucks for delivery.
- Maintains housekeeping tasks of batch office and surrounding premises to conform to company and legal standards.
- Receives COD payments and deposits in company safe daily. Must verify the COD payments with the tickets so that accuracy is ensured.
- Communication with dispatch with regards to materials requirements, shipping orders and changes.
- Perform various quality control tasks such as moisture checks, slump tests, air entrainment tests and temperature of materials.
- Daily inspections at start of shift and end of shift to include but not limited to walk around plant visually inspecting all belts, hoses & gates. Draining compressor and water traps, verifying air line oilers have adequate amounts of oil and refilling as needed.
- Supports Operations Manager with enforcement of company safety program.
- Perform various plant maintenance functions per start-up and shut-down procedures such as greasing, adjustments, cleaning bag houses and venting systems, shoveling and plant system checks. Assist in maintenance of computerized batching equipment.
- Perform daily paperwork, including production and batch reports as necessary.
- Ensure ready mix drivers are getting loaded in timely manner.
- Coordinates bulker drivers in shipping and receiving.
- Assist Maintenance Department in ensuring equipment is in proper working order through communication with the Maintenance Manager.
- Communicates with the loader operators as needed.

Summary
Plant operations include batching, plant maintenance, and paperwork processing and plant cleanup. Involves working with dispatch, truck maintenance personnel, ready mix drivers and customers, to provide superior product and service.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be computer literate.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Spanish preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
